Sustainability case study report highlights the importance of training for the next generation of filmmakers

greenshoot-bfiThe BFI Lottery Film Fund worked with Melanie Dicks from Greenshoot to help adopt sustainable practice on three films that were in production last summer. These were film noir thriller City of Tiny Lights based on the novel by Patrick Neate, Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire and an adaptation of Arthur Ransome’s classic novel Swallows & Amazons.

The films were selected as they represented small, medium and big-budget films and, as before, the learning supported the model of a trainee Green Runner leading on sustainability on-set with the support of the Producer. You can read the full Greenshoot report to find out more about how successful each production was in reducing its carbon footprint and making financial savings.
